The famous 6 mm medico filters, for pipes and holders, owe the success to various but simple reasons: they are made of many paper layers (in the black version two layers of activated charcoal) and consequently completely neutral: they do not change the taste of tabacco!
The paper layers absorb the humidity produced by the smoker and by the sludge of the smoke (the absorbing capacity of medico filters is one of the best on the market).

The little baffles, scientifically studied cut along the internal wall of the filters, have various function:
- They break up and whirl cool the smoke while they continue to maintain a good draught
- They trap tar, nicotine flakes and other impurities
- They help to save the oral cavity, the cleaning of the teeth the health of the smoker
- They contribute to eliminate the cause of tongue bite and row mouth
